Spider Man Turn Off The Dark Delayed Again

‘Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark’ Delayed. Again. By Germain Lussier/Dec. 16, 2010 4:00 pm EST The U2/Julie Taymor Spider-Man musical, Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark, has been running in preview showings for about two weeks now with generally mixed reactions. Most people who’ve seen the show, which wasn’t set to officially open until January 11, agreed it had some major story problems but was visually stunning. For a musical that cost $65 million, even a small problem is bad news so the New York Times is reporting the opening of the show will now be delayed for the fourth time....

The Change Up Red Band Trailer 2

‘The Change-Up’ Red-Band Trailer #2 By Russ Fischer/July 27, 2011 1:22 pm EST I think most of you know The Change-Up drill by now: Jason Bateman is a family man, Ryan Reynolds is his perpetually single best friend, and after some mystical occurrence, they switch bodies. Awkward sexual antics and general hilarity ensue. We’ve seen some funny moments in previous trailers, and now there is a new red-band clip to prove the film’s pervy pedigree....

Barry Levinson S The Bay Is A Chilling Tale Of Man Eating Isopods And Buck Passing Government Officials Nyff Review

Barry Levinson’s ‘The Bay’ Is A Chilling Tale Of Man-Eating Isopods And Buck-Passing Government Officials [NYFF Review] By Angie Han/Sept. 19, 2012 2:00 pm EST The world doesn’t necessarily need another found-footage horror film, but Barry Levinson’s well-crafted The Bay reminds us why there are so many of them to begin with. The format does precisely what it’s supposed to here, ramping up the dread through the illusion of reality. Combine that with Levinson’s commitment to (relative) plausibility and incisive understanding of human nature, and we’re left with an eco-horror film whose scares linger long after the credits roll....

David O. Russell’s ‘Nailed’ Takes A Step Closer To Release By Russ Fischer/April 11, 2011 4:30 pm EST The story of David O. Russell’s political satire Nailed is a long, rather sad one, and it isn’t over yet. While most of the film was shot in 2008, multiple shutdowns and the financial ruin of Capitol Films finally caused the incomplete film to be put on the shelf. But now current owner Ron Tutor is trying to do something to recoup the $26m put into the film....

Forthcoming Avatar Special Edition DVD Reinstates The Film’s Original Earthbound Opening By Russ Fischer/Aug. 27, 2010 8:22 am EST Now James Cameron is talking about what will be in that longer cut of the film. One of the things going back in is the original opening of Avatar, which started out on “a dystopian, Blade Runner-ish Earth.” Cameron talked to The Oregonian, saying, We’ve long known that this opening was shot, but ended up being cut because it was a bit slow, and Cameron wanted to just put audiences on the way to Pandora as soon as possible....

But in the years since he has become a man who primarily scores films, his live appearances are few and far between. Kate Beckinsale Will Return For Fourth Underworld Film

Kate Beckinsale Will Return For Fourth ‘Underworld’ Film By Adam Quigley/Sept. 24, 2010 4:23 am EST Usually when the central protagonist is absent from the latest entry in a franchise, that’s a sign that it’s on its last legs, and the studio is making a last-ditch attempt to milk it of all its remaining worth. One might’ve thought that was the case with Underworld: Rise of the Lycans, but lo and behold, Kate Beckinsale will portray the leather-clad Selene once again for the fourth film in the Underworld series, which has yet to be tagged with a generic, nondescript subtitle....

More Atlas Shrugged Craziness: Former Director Angry At Being Replaced, May Sue By Russ Fischer/June 15, 2010 10:13 am EST There’s another odd wrinkle to the story about producer John Aglialoro hastily getting an Atlas Shrugged film into production in order to retain rights to the novel.
