The Sound Of Drive

The Sound Of ‘Drive’ By Germain Lussier/Nov. 21, 2011 7:00 am EST When discussing Nicolas Winding Refn’s awesome crime drama, Drive, several things can be singled out as exceptional. Ryan Gosling’s performance for one. His relationship with his neighbor played by Carey Mulligan. The film’s refusal to give you a straight answer and, of course, the collected soundtrack. The music selected, the score as well as the sound mix, which features some incredibly blown out gunshots, screeching tires and blows to the head, are all totally off the charts....

Watch Raw Early Disney Animation Starring Mickey Mouse Precursor ‘Oswald The Lucky Rabbit’ By Russ Fischer/June 19, 2012 9:30 am EST A piece of Disney trivia that isn’t exactly new, but might be unknown to casual fans, is that Walt Disney’s defining character Mickey Mouse has his roots in another animated figure that Disney animated for producer Charles Mintz and Universal before he struck out on his own. Oswald the Lucky Rabbit was the star of Universal’s first animated series, in 26 cartoons produced in the ’20s and ’30s by Disney and Ub Iwerks....

Prometheus Teaser Poster

‘Prometheus’ Teaser Poster By Russ Fischer/Dec. 14, 2011 2:15 pm EST Now we’ve got a teaser poster which builds on one of the first official images released from the movie — that shot of a giant head which I still think looks eerily like Alien designer H.R. Giger. With that small bit of light emitting from the image, it even looks like a vague reference to the one-sheet for Alien, but perhaps I’m just reading too much into it....
