Trailer For Tarsem Singh’s ‘Mirror, Mirror’ By Angie Han/Nov. 15, 2011 3:22 pm EST After months of hearing all about Tarsem Singh’s “sickeningly kiddie” Snow White project Mirror, Mirror and glimpsing the bright, colorful images from the set, we finally have our first look at some actual footage from the film. The very first official trailer has now hit the web, and it looks… well, see for yourself. Mirror, Mirror features Lily Collins as the classic fairy tale princess, with Julia Roberts as the Evil Queen, Sean Bean as the King, Armie Hammer as the handsome prince, and Nathan Lane as some guy named Brighton that I don’t remember from my childhood storybooks....

VOTD: Jim Henson’s Recently Discovered 1963 Short Film ‘Robot’ By Peter Sciretta/April 5, 2012 5:00 am EST Jim Henson’s short film Robot was recently discovered in the AT&T Archives. In 1963, a then-27-year-old Henson was commissioned to create the film for a Bell System seminar for business owners on the then-brand-new topic of Data Communications. According to AT&T: The seminar itself involved a lot of films and multimedia presentations, and took place in Chicago....

VOTD: Ken Turner’s Tim Burton-Inspired Stop-Motion Animated Short Film ‘Tim’ By Peter Sciretta/Sept. 10, 2010 1:00 pm EST Toronto-based artist Ken Turner has created a six minute stop-motion animated film titled “Tim” about a boy named Timothy Gray, who “wants to be just like Tim Burton when he grows up.” The film is kind of a tribute to Burton and the power of movies. I love the character and production design, but wish there was more animation in the short film....
