‘X-Men First Class’ Theatrical Trailer

Thanks to Yahoo Movies for the trailer.

So do you like this as much as the teaser trailer?

My first impression is that the action, oddly enough, is much more believable and interesting than the mentor stuff. In this trailer, Charles and Erik mentoring a bunch of young kids almost feels like a whole other movie. I’ll be very curious to see how Vaughn manages to balance action and character development, most of which probably hinges on the performances of the young actors.

The action and effects though, which were initially a worry when this story was announced, don’t seem to be an issue at all. Huge gun fights, underwater scenes, and that epic ocean battle all look really fun. Plus – and maybe I’m alone in this – but I’m loving the classic yellow suits. The obviously a bit-too-spoilerific shot of the kids in the suits definitely elicited a smile.

What stood out for you in this trailer? Favorite shot? Do you think it works as well as the teaser? And how do you think X-Men First Class is going to stack up against the rest of the summer’s superheroes?
