‘Sound Of My Voice’ Trailer: What Mysteries Lie Within A Suburban Cult?

As much as I liked the introductory 12-minute clip, in which documentary-making couple Peter (Christopher Denham) and Lorna (Nicole Vicius) attempt to infiltrate a mysterious group led by an enigmatic young woman named Maggie (Brit Marling), I think this trailer is a lot more effective in establishing just how quietly strange the movie might be. The very believably weird can be a lot more powerful than big, overblown strangeness. I that’s especially so at a time like the present, when politics and public conversation about policy issues are so polarized, strange and, yeah, sometimes cult-like.
